2.  Town Notices:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING - The Town of Vinalhaven Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing March 8th, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Office to discuss an application being submitted for a Sub-Division at Coombs Neck.  All persons wishing to make comments or ask questions about the application are invited to attend this Public Hearing.  Comments may be submitted in writing to:  Vinalhaven Planning Board, PO Box 815, Vinalhaven, ME, 04863 at any time prior to the Public Hearing.   

Holiday Schedule:  The Library will be CLOSED on Saturday, Feb 18th, 2017; and the Landfill and All other Town Offices will be CLOSED on Monday, Feb. 20th, 2017 in observance of Presidents Day.

Parking Lot Maintenance Any gear, equipment, abandoned boats, trailers, etc… will be subject to a fine if left longer than 48 hours.  Any boats or unregistered cars will be fined $10/day until removed.  If any of the aforementioned has been removed by the town and you are looking for it, contact Andy Dorr at the Town Office or by calling 863-2042.  Please help keep the wharfs clear. 
WE CAN NOW ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS!  Credit card payments are made through a third-party payment processor, MainePayPort, and each payment made through the service will incur a PayPort fee. Paying by credit card through Maine PayPort is voluntary and the final cost is higher than using other forms of payment.  A $1.00 fee will be charged for payments totaling $40.00 or less, and a 2.5% fee will be charged for payments over $40.00.

Assessor/CEO/LPI – Jacki Robbins is in the office on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. 

2017 Boat Registrations and Hunting & Fishing Licenses are now available.  Boat Registrations and Licenses for 2016 expired as of December 31st, 2016. 

Apply now for the 2017 Maine Moose Permit Lottery –please visit www.mefishwildlife.com.  The deadline for online applications is 11:59 p.m. on May 15, 2017.  The moose permit drawing will take place on June 17th, 2017 at Caribou Parks and Recreation. 

TAX BILLS FOR 2016-2017 HAVE BEEN MAILED AND THE FIRST HALF PAYMENT WAS DUE BY NOVEMBER 1st, 2016.  INTEREST BEGAN TO ACCRUE ON NOVEMBER 2nd, 2016.
